Kyoko is the Managing Director of DEFTA Partners which is an early-stage venture capital firm investing in IT and healthcare technology companies in the US, Japan and Israel. With over 20 years of experience in the venture capital industry, she oversees the operation of funds and has worked closely with over 50 early stage companies in DEFTA’s portfolio. Kyoko advises and assists many portfolios with their strategies to expand into the Japanese market.
She also serves on the Board of Directors of the San Francisco-Osaka sister city association and the Alliance Forum Foundation, a non-profit to harness new technologies and support innovative initiatives. She received a BA from Seishin University and MBA from University of San Francisco.
