Shiyong Wang

Shiyong Wang, a national of People’s Republic of China, senior health specialist in the Health, Nutrition, and Population Global Practice in South Asia Region. He has Master degree of HIV/AIDS Control from London School of Tropic Medicine, UK and PhD degree in Veterinary Epidemiology from Massey University, NZ.  He worked on health system strengthening in more than eighteen low and middle income countries.  His main areas of interest are disease surveillance and response, emergency response, one health and Non-Communicable Diseases, and health service delivery.  He is one of very few World Bank staff participated in World Bank’s response to HIV/AIDS, SARS, HPAI, Pandemic Influenza (2009), EVD, Zika and COVID-19. Key publications that he co-authored include Reforming China’s Rural Health System, Toward a Harmonious Live in China – Stemming the Rising Tide of Non-Communicable Diseases, Health Service Delivery in Sierra Leone – Results of 2018 Service Delivery Indicator Survey and Health in All Policies as a Strategic Policy Response to NCDs.
